New solar light tower from Atlas Copco

08 June 2021

Atlas Copco Power and Flow has launched a new solar-powered LED light tower, the HiLight S2+, described as 鈥渁 robust alternative to temporary diesel lighting鈥 for rental companies operating in infrastructure, construction projects, mining, oil and gas, and event sites.

F茅lix G贸mez, Atlas Copco Divisional Product Marketing Manager 鈥 Light Towers, said the tower offered reliable low emission usage.

The HiLight S2+.

鈥淯sers can easily accomplish a work shift of 11 hours with the HiLight S2+ reliable light source with hardly any CO2 emissions and noise,鈥 he said.

The tower has four 90W LED floodlights, delivering 2,000 m2 light coverage.

Operation is via an external control panel. The lights also have a dimming function, and the tower provides autonomous operation where solar yield is greater than energy demand.

It can be charged with Atlas Copco鈥檚 ZenergiZe energy storage systems or a power grid when energy demand is higher than solar yield during winter months.

Meanwhile batteries can be recharged with solar energy in eight hours or an external power source in three hours.

It has a pop-up canopy for quick servicing, with solar panels designed to be easily pulled out from the canopy for set-up.

The tower can operate at temperatures from -5掳C to +50掳C and at high altitudes without derating, meaning it is suitable for remote work sites.
