Egis and Setec consult on $5bn Cairo Metro Line 6 studies

French engineering consultancies Egis and Setec have signed a deal to develop the second phase of studies for a new metro line in Cairo, expected to cost around US$5 billion.

The proposed Metro Line 6 would extend over 34km, running from north to south through various Greater Cairo neighbourhoods.

It will connecting with the Metro Lines 1, 3, and 4.

France鈥檚 government has agreed to finance the preconstruction phase of the project.
