Cemex Croatia to build new solar power plants at three production facilities

Cemex Croatia has been awarded contracts by the Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund to implement three projects for energy production from renewable sources. The projects will be co-financed by the EU鈥檚 Modernisation Fund.

Under these contracts, Cemex will build new solar power plants on the roofs of three locations: Sv. Juraj cement plant in Ka拧tel Su膰urac, Sv. Kajo cement plant in Solin, and the Podsused production facility in Zagreb. The total value of these projects will be over 鈧5 million, out of which approximately 鈧3 million will be co-financed by the EU.
The total installed capacity of the solar power plants will be 6.34 MW. At the Sv. Juraj plant, photovoltaic systems with an installed power of 3.79 MW, worth 鈧3 million, will be added. At the Sv. Kajo plant, photovoltaic systems with an installed power of 2.14 MW, worth 鈧1.7 million, will be fitted.
Both of these investments will be co-financed by the Modernisation Fund to the amount of 60%. Photovoltaic systems with an installed capacity of 0.41 MW will be set on the Podsused production facility, and 50% of the project鈥檚 value of approximately 鈧318,000 will be co-financed by European means.
