Red Sea Global (RSG), which is wholly owned by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, said that a number of areas of the luxury destination, which will be powered entirely by solar energy, are moving towards completion.

By 2025, Amaala is set offer more than 1,400 hotel rooms and 160 residences across eight resorts. Once complete, it will feature close to 4,000 hotel rooms across 30 hotels as well as approximately 1,200 luxury villas, apartments, and estate homes

Construction companies involved include Al Rawabi Hassan Allam, Shapoorji Pallonji Group, DEPA Group, Alec Engineering and Contracting, Havelock One and Al-Ayuni Investment and Contracting Company.

Work to flood the marina basin, a central feature of the resort, was completed at the end of 2023, and contracts for construction of the floating pontoons and fixed decks have been awarded.

At the Triple Bay Marina Village, the Equinox Resort is now topped out and concrete structure work on the main building of the Village Boutique Hotel, as well as condos and villas is nearing completion.

All construction contracts have been awarded for the Amaala Yacht Club and concrete works are close to completion, with structural steel and MEP works now started.

Steel and façade works at RSG’s marine life institute, called Corallium, which will be home to various marine research operations and visitor experiences, are also advancing, according to RSG.

In what will be known as the ‘Wellness Core’, superstructures are present on 80% of the 220 buildings within this zone. Eventually, it will house well-known wellness resorts such as Jayasom and Clinique La Prairie.

Meanwhile, in Triple Bay Central, partner resorts like Rosewood and Six Senses have passed the two thirds complete milestone. At Four Seasons, the landscaping, MEP and façade works are underway. The resorts are set to open in 2025.

Amaala will feature three, nine-hole golf courses, plus a further nine-hole executive par 3 course. Phase one of development will total 18 holes. So far, all major works have been completed for three holes, and the remaining 15 holes underway.

Separately, works for primary infrastructure including 35km of internal roads, plus power, water, irrigation, and communications infrastructure are heading for completion..

Meanwhile, earlier this year the Ministry of Health approved the design for the Amaala Hospital. The hospital will provide healthcare services for residents and visitors to the 4,200km2 destination.
