Metso opens screening plant in Mexico

Metso has officially opened its new screening media factory in Irapuato, Mexico, which it says will 鈥渟ignificantly increase鈥 its supply and delivery capabilities for customers in the aggregates and mining sectors in North and Central America.

The screening media factory is part of a larger 9,000 sq m facility being built at the Irapuato site, and incorporates latest advanced and sustainable manufacturing practices, and has solar panels that provide roughly 50% of its electricity needs.

Expected to be fully operational by the end of Q2 this year, equipment produced at the screening equipment plant will eventually include the company鈥檚 mobile screens, portable screens, horizontal and inclined screens, as well as its ultrafine and banana screens.聽

Metso, which recently , says its screening installed base in the Americas has grown significantly, with the company delivering a total of 250 new screening machines to mining and aggregates customers last year alone.
